Our old site was built on WordPress, and it been built upon various times leaving a lot of code in the back end which slowed the site down massively. We also did not have the flexibility to make changes on the site, so it was very static. I had used Volcanic in a previous role, so it was really an easy decision choosing Volcanic again. We did shop around, but Volcanic remained the front-runner in terms of what we were looking for, especially with the fast delivery. Recruitment websites can be complex and only specialists in that area understand that. That's the reason Volcanic is a successful business; people want to work with the experts!
A key objective of our new site was to learn more about our audience. Our previous site didn’t have a dedicated login area where candidates could register, so with Volcanic's candidate portals we can learn information about our candidates and present them with a more personalised experience through email job alerts. I’m looking forward to really getting into the detail with the reporting suite to learn even more about our audience with insights such as source tracking.
I couldn’t praise the Volcanic team enough. Our sales contact was absolutely fantastic, in fact we still speak now! He really went out of his way to support me in getting our directors on board and getting us over the line. Our project lead was also fantastic. We had weekly meetings right up until the end and he was always quick to respond to any concerns over email. We went through a challenging time as a business due to covid and staff shortages, all while going live with both a new website and our Bullhorn CRM. Our project lead was really supportive throughout this time and reassured us everything would get sorted, and it did.
Of course, projects like these are never without their challenges. But since going live whenever I’ve raised an issue, the Access support team have been really responsive and have managed to resolve it. When I've reached out, I’ve been getting emails back from the team within 3-4 minutes and so the support service has been fantastic for us.
The integrations with our other 3rd party suppliers were such an easy transition for us and it has all gone perfectly. Although we’re in the early days of our integrations, we’re already seeing the benefit of having our systems working together and the efficiencies it’s bringing to our processes. We know that if we hadn’t gone down the route of a SaaS platform, getting these integrations set up would have been a much more complicated and costly experience!
We are also in the process of adding additional functionality to the site as we continue to enhance the experience we’re offering to our candidates. Volcanic make it so easy for us to plug these third party tools in so it really helps us to build even further onto the great platform we already have to ensure we’re giving our candidates as many opportunities to engage with us as possible.
