At Volcanic, we never stop learning, growing, and improving our business and ourselves - we literally never stop. Take Matt, for example - he'd only just arrived last week in Boston for Bullhorn Engage and already hit the ground running...
It’s all part of our #ApplyYourself culture.
What we love about Engage is the opportunity to network with the staffing industry, openly sharing knowledge and ideas and gaining insight into the future or recruitment. And it gets better year on year.
We take every opportunity to look outside our business to understand other successful companies, what makes them tick and why their staff love working there. Everything we learn feeds into our model of success.
To support our growth - not just in size and revenue but also in culture and thinking - we’re great believers in taking ideas from the best in the business.
That’s why events like Bullhorn Engage are so important to us.
We follow industry leaders, like Joyce Russell, President at Adecco Staffing US to learn from her strategy how we can put the cherry on top for all our clients - in fact our Global Product Director Matt Comber is Joyce’s #1 fan - he was the one at the front of the theatre!
Paul Allen’s insights that our workplace cultures introduce limitations rather than open up possibilities inspire our belief to create an inclusive and diverse employee culture that allows people to flourish.
And we loved Janette Marx, Global COO at Airswift’s take on building a global business in the face of apparent adversity. We’ve taken inspiration from all the speakers at this year’s event to continue to feed great ideas into the Volcanic bloodstream.
And in addition to our morning jog...
...one other thing we’re slightly obsessive about is our thirst for knowledge and continuous improvement. We read great books to bring inspirational business ideas to the table.
What inspires us? Here, we share three of our favourites:
Based on a study of thousands of professionals, the authors discovered that customers have fundamentally changed the way they buy, which means companies must evolve how they sell.

Success can happen only when we confront our mistakes, learn from them, and create a climate where it’s safe to fail.

At Volcanic, we believe that success comes from never standing still, always learning and continually evolving the way we do things. And there's no greater appetite for learning and innovating than in recruitment.
And as for books about running to find yourself, or to land the ultimate client? Errrmmm...here's some inspiration from Matt!
